Child care center directors and group day care home providers must meet qualifications as stated in Licensing Rule 19 CSR 30-62.102(2) (B) 2. and 3.
To complete this process, you must:
STEP 1: Submit a Center Director/Group Day Care Home Provider Certification Request.
|Director/Group Home Provider Requirements|
|Licensed Capacity of the Center||Education and Experience Requirements for Group Home Provider/Center Director. Individual must meet requirements for both total college semester hours or experience, and child-related college semester hours.|
|Total college semester hours or experience; and||Child-related college semester hours|
|Up to 20 Children||Thirty (30) college semester hours or twelve (12) months’ experience; and||Six (6) college semester hours in child-related courses, or a CDA, or a YDC.|
|21 to 60 Children||Sixty (60) college semester hours or twenty-four (24) months’ experience;
|Twelve (12) college semester hours in child-related courses.|
|61 to 99 Children||Ninety (90) college semester hours or thirty-six (36) months’ experience; and||Eighteen (18) college semester hours in child-related courses.|
|100 or more Children||One hundred twenty (120) college semester hours or four (4) years’ experience; and||Twenty-four (24) college semester hours in child-related courses. Six (6) of the twenty-four (24) college semester hours may include courses in business or management.|

STEP 2: To request that a center director/group day care home provider be approved for a specific facility, a Center Director/Group Day Care Home Provider Approval Request must be submitted to the facility’s Child Care Facility Specialist.
